Job Title:  Student Assistant

 

OCE Student Assistant is responsible for providing logistical support for the office. Student Assistants report to the Director of Civic Engagement.

 

Position responsibilities include:

 

Providing information about civic engagement opportunities for those who visit our office in person, by phone, or email.

Helping to promote and publicize civic engagement.

Assisting with work production generated by the office.

Accepting other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Civic Engagement.

Providing logistical support for planned on-campus and off-campus events.

Supporting the Office of Civic Engagement’s online presence by identifying and disseminating timely information and stories. 

Providing administrative support, particularly in data entry and report creation.

The ideal candidate will have excellent people skills and experience serving their community.

He or she will welcome the opportunity to be a consistent and passionate student advocate for civic engagement both on-campus and within the local community. 

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently on both assigned and self-created tasks. 

Each student usually works between 6 and 10 hours per week.

Students work in shifts no less than 2 hours during our office hours: 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday when class is in session.

College work study eligible students should identify themselves.
