In honor of her years of service to Southwestern University and the A. Frank Smith, Jr. Library Center, the Literary Societies alcove has been re-dedicated as the Lynne Brody Writer’s Voice Alcove. In addition to providing leadership for traditional and new library services for 22 years, Dean Brody created the Writer’s Voice Series during her tenure at SU.

The re-dedicated first floor alcove now features prints of the promotional posters from the first thirteen years of the Writer’s Voice series.  The first annual Writer’s Voice event took place in 2000 when Joyce Carol Oates visited campus.
