Receptionist - Office of Admission

This position involves creating a welcoming environment for students and parents visiting the Enrollment Services Office which includes both Admissions and Financial Aid. The receptionist presents material informing students and parents of the application process, scholarship opportunities, degree programs, and extracurricular activities offered by Southwestern University. Other duties include, but are not limited to: monitor and co-supervise tour guides; contact overnight hosts and check-in overnight guests; assist with data entry; serve as a back-up to the staff secretary; answer multi-line phones; collection and distribution of mail; prepare daily schedule visit sheet and visit board; and assist the Campus Visitation Coordinator and other members of the Admission team with various projects and other secretarial duties as required.
The successful candidate should possess a high school diploma or equivalent; three years office/clerical experience; commitment to provide outstanding customer service; excellent verbal communication skills; excellent telephone etiquette and command of grammar; flexibility regarding changing priorities; excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with a keen attention to detail; excellent conflict resolution skills and an astute problem solving ability as well as the ability to remain poised in a busy office environment. Computer literacy is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected.
