Dylan C. Penningroth, Associate Professor of History at Northwestern University, came to SU in the fall of 2008 as the speaker for the Annual History Colloquium.
Dr. Penningroth’s talk, “The Preacher’s Wife: Law, Divorce, and Respectability among African Americans, 1865-1930,” was extremely well-received by the campus community. We were all delighted to hear that he has received the prestigious honor of being named a 2012 MacArhtur Fellow (popularly known as the “Genius Award”). Congratulations to Dr. Penningroth! Make sure to come to the History Colloquium this year to meet another important scholar!
