Southwestern University invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of University Relations – Gift Programs, Job # 502.  This position, as a member of the Development team, focuses on identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and thanking donors who give yearly contributions to the University and serves to guide several established fund raising programs, including the Phonathon, Brown Society, Class Gift Campaigns, and Corporate Matching Gift program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  Assist the Director in creating a comprehensive annual fund program and calendar which coordinates with the total development effort; plan and implement phone-a-thon; assist with the implementation of the Class Agent Program; plan and implement the annual Senior Gift Program; oversee the acquisition, retention and stewardship initiatives associated with the Brown Society; oversee all direct mail efforts; assist the Director of University Relations – Gift Programs, as needed.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree, one year related experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work with others as a member of a team and to direct the work of volunteers and support staff, a high degree of initiative and stamina, and respect for the confidential nature of the work.  Some evening and weekend work is required.  Prefer some experience in development or related area.
