Southwestern University has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Temporary Staff Secretary position in the Office of University Relations.  The position provides administrative support to the University Relations staff and reports directly to the Associate Vice President for University Relations – Alumni and Parents.  This is a temporary position with an estimated 25 hours of work per week for one year with the possibility of an extension.  This position is not eligible for benefits. 

The primary responsibilities: Provide support for the event mailings and preparations; process phone registrations for events; data entry; manage alumni news in online system; process business office documents; answer telephone and e-mails; greet/assist office visitors.

The position minimum qualifications: a high school diploma and one year secretarial experience; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, spreadsheets and database management; excellent organizational skills; ability to establish and maintain an office filing system and manage and complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision; and ability to initiate and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
