Southwestern University invites applications for the Associate Director of Financial Aid position, Job #499. This position assists with the management of the Financial Aid Office, to include the processing and review of applications for financial aid, determining financial aid eligibility for student applicants, management of various grant and scholarship programs, coordination of financial aid counseling and packaging for students studying abroad, assistance with staff training, assistance with the processing of VA educational benefits for students, and monitoring of state and federal financial aid programs to ensure regulatory compliance. As a member of the Financial Aid staff, the Associate Director also provides financial aid counseling to individual students and families in support of student recruitment and retention efforts at the university. This position oversees the office operations and management in the absence of the Director of Financial Aid.
Minimum qualifications include: a bachelor’s degree; a minimum of five years of experience in a college/university financial aid office; proven knowledge of Federal Title IV and State of Texas Financial Aid programs and regulations; general computer proficiency in WORD, EXCEL, and student information systems. Preferred qualifications include: experience with State of Texas Tuition Equalization Grant program, Federal Pell Grant program and/or familiarity with Federal Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) processing system.
