The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Southwestern University seeks applicants for a tenure track position as Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry beginning in August 2013. Applicants must have completed a PhD in organic chemistry or closely related field except inorganic. Candidates with research interests in synthetic organic chemistry are preferred.  The candidate must be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and is expected to develop a productive undergraduate research program. Teaching responsibilities include organic lecture and laboratory and an advanced course in area of expertise. The successful candidate is also expected to contribute to the division-wide program developing an inquiry-based curriculum as part of our recent Howard Hughes Medical Institute award.  Candidates who have a strong commitment to enhancing diversity in academia are also preferred.
