Southwestern University, located in Georgetown, Texas, has two Internships available for Advanced Graduate Students in Librarianship/Information Studies.  The positions are funded with a grant from the Andrew Mellon Foundation.  The interns will work closely with the Heads of Circulation, Periodicals, and Reference Services to assist in the development of library research materials for implementing a Writing in the Disciplines program at Southwestern University, and will provide general support to the librarians to allow for their focused attention to the project. This is a great opportunity to learn and contribute, and to gain experience in a liberal arts college library environment.

Terms:  Position commences August 1, 2012 and runs for a period of 42 weeks, working 20 hours per week.  Exact schedule negotiable, may include night hours. Renewal appointment a possibility.  Pay: $15/hour.

Qualifications:  Required: Strong technology skills; aptitude for and knowledge of library instruction and information literacy; excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.  Excellent undergraduate background in a liberal arts or sciences discipline. Completion of the core courses in the MSIS program at the School of Information at the University of Texas at Austin. Preferred:  Work experience in an academic library.  Knowledge of assessment tools. Experience with library public services desirable.
