Congratulations to the families of graduating seniors!
We want you to have a smooth and celebratory graduation day. We suggest you check in with your student to ensure the following items have been completed.
- Plan your day. View the Commencement Schedule.
- Obtain your tickets. Requested tickets have been mailed to graduates unless a hold has been placed on the record.
- Alert University staff of guests with special needs immediately. Email Xan Koonce (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your needs.
- Make hotel reservations.

The Student Organization Award went to the Community Garden and the Organization Advisor Award went to Religion and Environmental Studies Professor Laura Hobgood-Oster for her work with SEAK. Read more student notables here.
Career Success Stories
Kindall Hogenson ‘12, an International Business and Spanish major will move after graduation to Seoul, South Korea to work for Samsung Construction and Trading following her successful Global Internship at the company in 2011. In her position at Samsung, Kindall will draw upon her experience learning about the oil and gas industry during her internship and will also use her fluent Spanish language skills working specifically with a mining project in Chile. Thank you to parent volunteers who assisted with admission programs this spring in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin. Every parent can help Southwestern’s recruitment efforts. Fall Classes Begin - Aug. 27
Non-graduating students should plan to move out of the residence halls within 24 hours of their last exam. Students remaining on campus this summer for coursework, research and other approved activities may leave their personal belongings in their rooms until summer housing has been readied the week after finals.
