Southwestern University is hosting three events the week of April 16 as part of its Writer-in-Residence Series.

On Wednesday, April 18, author Tom Grimes is giving a lecture on creative writing beginning at 4 p.m. in Mood-Bridwell Atrium. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session. Grimes directs the MFA program in creative writing at Texas State University.

On Thursday, April 19, the university is hosting a “Cabaret Night” that features nine Southwestern students reading from their own creative work. The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Cove and will be emceed by Austin screenwriter and novelist Owen Egerton.

On Saturday, April 21, Austin poet Scott Wiggerman is giving a free poetry workshop from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 147 of the Prothro Center for Lifelong Learning.
