Analiese is Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Faculty Chair in the School of International Studies at the University of the Pacific. 

Analiese Richard, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Faculty Chair in the School of International Studies at the University of the Pacific. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociocultural Anthropology from the University of California-Berkeley in 2005. Her research, published in journals such as the Journal of the Royal Anthropological Society, concerns the role of the commons in democratic politics. Her current project examines the relationships between public science and grassroots organizing in struggles over biotechnology and traditional food systems in Mexico. As a teacher, she has earned awards for designing innovative undergraduate research projects that employ ethnographic methods in collaborations between student teams and local community partners.
