Bridging the Gap: Stories of Humanities in the Real World
Saturday, November 5th * 3:00p - 4:00p * Career Services Office * All students are welcome
Refreshments will be served.
Humanities majors truly are a gateway to many different career fields. Come join Career Services for a reception to talk with alumni during Homecoming who majored in Art History, English, History, Philosophy and Religion. The opportunity to talk with alumni about their career stories has proved an invaluable resource for current students. We want to work with each of you to create an opportunity to broaden your knowledge and personal network.
A small group of alumni will be on hand to talk with students about their career fields, the work they do, what background/experience prepared them for their current career and general insight into life after SU. As alumni register, we will update the list of who will be attending.
TO DATE Alumni participating represent:
- Development Director with a nonprofit (English major)
- Senior Faculty Instructor at Texas State (History major)
- Public School Teacher for History and English (Philosophy and History major)
- Historic Preservationist (Art History major)
- Chaplain at UTMB (Philosophy major)
- …and more
Advanced sign-up is required. To sign-up for this event, please stop by Career Services in the Prothro Center or reply via email to email@example.com with your contact information.
If you are concerned about participating for the entire hour due to Homecoming commitments, please be aware that this is a meet and greet type of event. You can plan to attend for as little as 15-20 minutes or you can stay for the entire hour. That will be left up to you.
Our alumni are excited to talk with you!! We look forward to having you join us on November 5th!
