Applications for Texas Politics Internships are now being accepted for Spring Semester, 2011

Southwestern University sponsors the oldest, formal internship program in the Texas state legislature

The Texas Politics Internships Program is open to Political Science majors and minors (or International Studies majors with an emphasis in Political Science), normally Juniors or Seniors although well-prepared Sophomores will also be considered.  The student must have completed two courses in political science by the end of Fall Semester, 2010.  The student should be available to participate in a seminar in the Capitol from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Thursdays and at least eight hours of internship any other time during the week. Internship assignments will be in the office of Texas State Representatives and legislative committees in Austin.

Application forms are available outside of room 242 Mood Hall.  Applications are due no later than Monday, October 18, at 4 PM.  Accepted students will be notified before pre-registration.  Early applications are welcomed.
