A group of current and former Southwestern theatre students is producing a show in Austin this summer as part of the Summer Acts! Theatre Festival hosted by The City Theatre.

The show is called “Shoot/Get Treasure/Repeat” and features a series of 20-minute plays by British playwright Mark Ravenhill. When written in 2007, the plays focused on the Iraq war and the effects of this war at home and abroad. The production being created by the Southwestern students extends past the frame of the Iraq war and uses some of the plays to examine the effect of war on humanity across the ages.

The show features Sam Allen, Kristi Brawner, Kinsey Keck, Tyler King and Tyler Williams. It is directed by Becca Plunkett.

The show will be performed on July 9 at 9 p.m., July 10 and July 17 at 4 p.m., July 11 at 2 p.m., July 15 at 7 p.m. and July 18 at 6 p.m. The City Theatre is located at 3823 Airport Blvd. in Austin.

Tickets for the show are $10 and may be reserved by calling 832-257-5173 or writing   outofcontextproductions@gmail.com.
