The next Public Night at Fountainwood Observatory is SATURDAY, April 09, 2011, 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM

PUBLIC NIGHT: SATURDAY, April 09, 2011, 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM

The viewing begins with a waxing crescent Moon in the western sky. By 9:00 PM beautiful ringed planet Saturn is visible about 33 degrees above the southeastern horizon. In addition to these celestial wonders colorful brighter stars and multiple stars systems can be readily viewed in the spring sky.

On hand to guide viewing will be S.U. Physics Department faculty and talented observers from the Williamson County Astronomy Club. Fountainwood Viewing Nights are always FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. The Observatory is located on the northeast side of campus adjacent to the Rockwell Baseball Field.
