New Special Collections Display
Household Chinese Art display curated by students
The students of the current Introduction to Art History: East Asia course have collaborated with Special Collections staff to curate an exhibit featuring Chinese household art. The pieces were collected by Rev. John Littleberry Hendry in the early 20th century. Hendry was a Christian missionary who brought back many artifacts from his visits to China, including items from the Qing Dynasty and the Early Modern China period.
These artifacts and information about them will be on display in the first floor Special Collections area in Smith Library Center through December 1, 2016. Viewing is encouraged and the public is welcome. View a brief video of the display.
