U.S. News and World Report ranks Southwestern University No. 1 in Texas and 95th nationally on its 2017 Best National Liberal Arts Colleges Rankings. Southwestern is one of 239 National Liberal Arts Colleges (20 public, 219 private and not-for-profit) to make the list. These colleges emphasize undergraduate education and award at least 50 percent of their degrees in the liberal arts.

U.S. News and World Report also ranked Southwestern No. 9 in the nation in its Best Colleges for Veterans. Southwestern secured the 106th spot in the High School Counselors list of most reputable colleges in the nation.

U.S. News and World Report ranks institutions using more than a dozen measures of academic quality, emphasizing graduation and retention rates and other student outcomes. The full rankings can be viewed on the U.S. News and World Report website.
