Dr. Alan Pizer, Senior Lecturer in the School of Art & Design at Texas State University, will be giving a talk entitled “Truth or Fiction in The DaVinci Code: An Art Historian’s Quest for the Real High Renaissance” on Monday, March 30 at 12:30 p.m. in the Margaret Shilling Room of the McCombs Campus Center.

As an “historical fiction” the DaVinci Code made quite a splash soon after it was published, in part because it blurred the boundaries between truth and fiction.  In addressing key claims made by the Code that resonated as “truth,” this talk will provide insights into how we understand the High Renaissance.

Dr. Pizer’s talk is sponsored by the English Department.
