With the win, Southwestern secured the U.S. Lacrosse Lone Star Alliance Division B Championship–a feat accomplished only once previously in the team’s history.

The Bucs rolled over St. Edwards, 13-5, in the Division semi-finals to earn a spot in Sunday’s championship game played in Waco, Texas. With the LSA Division B crown under its belt, Southwestern heads to Blaine, Minn., to compete in the U.S. Lacrosse Men’s Division Intercollegiate Associates (MDIA) National Championships. May 10-14. They face a big challenge in their first-round match-up with No. 1-ranked and top-seeded University of San Diego.

Southwestern finished 10-2 overall and 9-0 in league play this season. The Bucs are ranked No. 14 in the latest national Division B poll. They are coached by Bill Bowman, Class of 1992, and assisted by Stacy Flood, Class of 1989, and Doc Calhoun.
