Southwestern Gets ‘Yarn Bombed’
On Sept. 30, 2010, Students in Professor Elizabeth Green Musselman’s First-Year Seminar on knitting “yarn bombed” the campus with works they had knitted for class.

This Pirate Bike was one of several that got yarn bombed. Locations on campus that got decorated included the trees and benches near the Campus Center, the courtyard in the Fine Arts Center, some railings near the FAC and the kiosk near Mood Hall. Elizabeth Green Musselman says the goal of "yarn bombing" is to give generic public spaces more character and life, and to call people's attention to their environment. The pieces are usually put up at night and left anonymous.
