Sarofim School of Fine Arts’ Music Department is excited to have guitarist Jason Vieaux join us at the Alma Thomas Theater.

Classical guitarist Jason Vieaux’s exquisite performances have captivated a wide range of audiences. Aside from having performed at every major guitar series in North America, his phenomenal technique is appreciated at international festivals across the globe, and he has been featured as a soloist with over one hundred orchestras. Jason Vieaux also pursues impressive recording projects, and his recent solo album, Play, won the 2015 GRAMMY Award for Best Classical Instrumental Solo. In between touring and recording he enjoys teaching, and in 2012 he launched the Jason Vieaux School of Classical Guitar, a virtual academy that allows aspiring musicians around the globe to engage with him in one-on-one sessions.

Jason Vieaux will also offer a master class to give Southwestern students one-on-one guidance for strengthening their guitar playing techniques. This class is free and open to the public, and is a great opportunity to observe a master musician offering expert advice to training guitarists.
