The Careers in Writing series features alumni and other professionals with experience in a wide variety of roles featuring writing, including: creative writing, grant writing, technical writing, corporate communications, public affairs, legal writing, publishing and more. This session features alumna Kim Mitchell ‘97, journal publications director at Landes Bioscience.

Kim Mitchell ‘97 graduated with her BA in political science from Southwestern and earned an MA in political science from the University of New Mexico. She currently oversees the biomedical, peer-reviewed journal publishing program at Landes Bioscience in Austin. The organization began publishing journals in 2002 (with two journals) and have added several new journals, on science driven topics, every year. She manages a staff of approximately 20 people, including other recent SU grads.
