Other
Ways of Locating Books
- NetLibrary --
provides access to full text scholarly,
reference and professional eBooks (electronic
books). To see the full text of a title
you must create a personal account.
Over 18,000 titles are available to
Southwestern users. NetLibrary's books are identical
in format and content to the print
versions of the texts.
- LibDex:
the Library Index -- an extensive
listing of library web-based catalogs
and home pages.
-
Voyager's New Books Search -- finds new items added
to the library collection over the past few weeks.
- University
of Texas at Austin: UT Library Online --
The online catalog of
the University of Texas at Austin
libraries provides information
on the millions of items in the UT
Austin libraries.
- WorldCat (OCLC)
-- the combined catalogued holdings
of thousands of libraries, searchable
by keywords, as well as by subject
headings, author and title. This is
an excellent way to find books on your
topic even if Smith Library Center
does not own them.
Interlibrary
Services
Through Interlibrary Services, currently
enrolled students, faculty, and staff
may borrow books, journal articles and
other research materials not owned by
the A. Frank Smith Library. You may use
the interlibrary
loan form to order titles that we
don't have. There is a two to three week
turnaround time for most book loan requests.
Check at the reference desk for further
information and assistance. To learn
more about Interlibrary Loan Services,
see the Interlibrary
Services FAQ page.
TexShare
Library Card Program
The TexShare Library Card Program allows
currently enrolled students, faculty
and staff from Texas colleges and universities,
including Southwestern, to apply for
library cards from participating TexShare
libraries across the state in order
to check out books. You must show a TexShare
card issued by your home library; at
Southwestern, TexShare Cards are issued
by the Circulation staff. For additional
information, please visit the Circulation
Desk.
