Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps)
FedBizOpps.gov is the single government point-of-entry (GPE) for Federal government procurement opportunities over $25,000. Government buyers are able to publicize their business opportunities by posting information directly to FedBizOpps via the Internet.

ICPSR Direct
University faculty, students, and staff may download social science research data sets from the ICPSR (Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research) website. Data includes General Social Survey data, election data, census data, world and European values surveys, criminal justice data, substance abuse/mental health data, education data, aging data, health/medical care data, and more.

Standard and Poor's NetAdvantage
Contains financial/business databases with information on company reports, bond ratings, industry trends, executive biographies, etc. Includes Standard & Poor's Bond Guide; Corporation Records; Dividend Record; Earnings Guide; Industry Surveys; Mutual Fund Reports; The Outlook; Register of Corporations, Directors, and Executives; Security Dealers' Directory; Stock Guide; and Stock Reports.

WDI Online: World Development Indicators
WDI Online is a data source on the global economy, containing statistical data for over 550 development indicators, and time series data from 1960-2002 for over 200 countries and 18 country groups. Included are social, economic, financial, natural resource, and environmental indicators. Results can be scaled, indexed against a particular year, viewed by percentage change, and charted. Data can be exported in standard formats like Excel.*For Southwestern community only.

To find printed reference material relevant to your topic start with the library's online catalog. Do a Reference Materials search using keywords to describe your topic. Dismal Scientist - a provider of economic analysis. "The name Dismal Scientist comes from the term 'dismal science,' which has long been associated with economics and originated in the writings of the Scottish essayist and historian Thomas Carlyle. He coined the term while referring to Thomas Malthus and his belief that exponential population growth and linear food supply growth would result in worldwide famine. Since then, economics has also been referred to as the dismal science because of the general notion of diminishing marginal returns."
