Ageline (AARP)
Ageline is provided by the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) and contains books, videos, research reports, articles from journals and magazines, related to issues of aging. It describes research, policy, and professional publications as well as those written for the general public. Coverage includes all major gerontology journals and many from selected disciplines, such as psychology, social work and the health sciences. The database includes citations, abstracts and some links to full-text reports.

AGRICOLA
Covers every major agricultural subject, including agricultural engineering and marketing, animal breeding, entomology, environmental pollution, farm management, foods and pesticides, rural sociology, and veterinary medicine. Citations consist of journal articles, book chapters, monographs, conference proceedings, serials, and other materials.

Alt HealthWatch
This alternative health database provides full text for 180 publications in the collection, including full text for many peer-reviewed journals. The full text version of the ATLA Religion Database. This database is a collection of major religion and theology journals selected by some of the major religion scholars in the United States. The Biological Abstracts database is a complete collection of bibliographic references to life sciences journal literature published around the world. Choice Reviews Online
Internet version of the print magazine CHOICE: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries. Reviews significant current books and electronic resources of interest in higher education. Each year CHOICE publishes more than 6,500 reviews by subject experts. Choice Reviews Online provides Web access to the entire database of CHOICE reviews published since September 1988. The database is updated monthly, generally at mid-month, with reviews that will be printed in the next monthly issue of CHOICE. The newest reviews appear, arranged by academic discipline and broad cross-disciplinary topic, in "Current Issue" They also are searchable by using Advanced Search, selecting by CHOICE Issue Date, and combining with various other criteria.

Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers (BETA),

Allows access to research from the world's leading international relations centers. Clase/Periodica
This is a combined index of Latin American journals in the sciences and humanities: CLASE indexes documents published in Latin American journals specializing in the social sciences and humanities; PERIODICA covers journals specializing in science and technology. GPO Monthly Catalog
Consists of records published by the GPO since July 1976. Includes references to congressional committee reports and hearings, debates, documents from executive departments, and more.

WISER is a PDA application designed to assist first responders in hazardous material incidents. Haz-Map links jobs and hazardous tasks with occupational diseases and their symptoms.

Twayne's Authors Series
The Twayne's Authors Series of literary criticism offers in-depth introductions to the lives and works of writers, the history and influence of literary movements and to the development of literary genres. This online series features the content of nearly 600 books that comprise three print series --United States Authors, English Authors and World Authors.

Twentieth-Century Poetry Collections
Two collections are available here: Twentieth-Century English Poetry offers online access to the poetry of some of the greatest writers of the twentieth century. It incorporates the works of 285 of the most widely studied poets of the British Isles and beyond, including over forty distinguished authors from The Faber Poetry Library. Twentieth-Century American Poetry includes 52,000 poems drawn from 750 volumes by over 300 poets. The collection reflects the variety and dynamism of American poetic voices in this century of change: all major movements and schools are represented, from the traditionalism of Robert Frost to the modernism of H.D. (Hilda Doolittle).

Vocational & Career Collection is designed for vocational and technical libraries servicing high schools, community colleges, trade institutions and the general public. This collection provides full text coverage for more than 350 trade and industry-related periodicals.

Voyager Catalog (Southwestern's Online Catalog)
Voyager is the online public access catalog of Southwestern University. Use it to search for books and journals, videotapes, compact discs, records, etc., held within the A. Frank Smith Library Center collection. The catalog may be search by author, title, subject, general keyword and several other ways. It provides basic and advanced search modes.

Wall Street Journal (Eastern Edition)
Coverage of national and international finance as well as coverage of news. You can limit your search to the newspaper title. Indexing and abstracting is available from October 2004 forward. The A. Frank Smith Library has print/microfilm copies of the eastern edition. Indexed in Academic Search Complete.

Wilson Business Abstracts
International English-language business magazines covering accounting, finance, management, small business, etc. Some entries are full text.

WilsonSelectPlus
Contains indexed and abstracted articles from 800+ periodicals, all with ASCII full text online. The database is comprised of select records from Readers' Guide Abstracts, Social Sciences Abstracts, Humanities Abstracts, Abstracts and Wilson Business Abstracts. Some titles date back to1994. Updated weekly.

Women Writers Online
A fully searchable full-text database of pre-Victorian women's writing in English. The Women Writers Online textbase is a collection of primary source, rare works selected with the aim of presenting texts which are hard to find in print. The collection is broadly interdisciplinary, covering a wide range of genres and topics. It includes a subset called Renaissance Women Online, which will eventually include 100 primary works by women written during the Renaissance, together with contextual introductions and topical essays on women's life and writing in the Renaissance.

Women's Studies International
Includes over 200,000 citations from 10 different women's studies- related databases, some dating back as far as 1972. Updated semi- annually. Women's Studies International (along with the Child Abuse and Neglect Database) is available through BiblioLine. At the first screen, read the brief instructions, then select Women's Studies International. Choose "BiblioLine Lite" for simple searching or "BiblioLine Professional" for more complex searches.

World Almanac
The World Almanac database includes the contents of: The World Almanac and Book of Facts 1998, The World Almanac of the U.S.A., The World Almanac of U.S. Politics, The World Almanac for Kids, and the World Almanac Knowledge Source.

World History Collection
Offers a global look at history with content from Africa, Asia, North and South America, Europe and the Middle East. World History Collection contains cover-to-cover full text for nearly 150 titles, including many peer-reviewed journals. Full text dates as far back as 1964.


WDI Online: World Development Indicators
WDI Online is a data source on the global economy, containing statistical data for over 550 development indicators, and time series data from 1960-2002 for over 200 countries and 18 country groups. Included are social, economic, financial, natural resource, and environmental indicators. Results can be scaled, indexed against a particular year, viewed by percentage change, and charted. Data can be exported in standard formats like Excel.*For Southwestern community only.

World News Connection
An online news service with an extensive array of translated and English-language news and information. Coverage of local media sources and current events in a specific country or region. Compiled from thousands of non-U.S. media sources. Covers significant socioeconomic, political, scientific, technical, and environmental issues and events. Includes "gray" literature. The information proceedings, television and radio broadcasts, periodicals, and non-classified technical reports. Updated every government business day. Generally, new information is available within 48-72 hours from the time of original publication or broadcast. Note to Mac OSX users: current version of Internet Explorer will not work with this site; use Netscape.

WorldCat
Access to listings of the holdings of library collections worldwide including Smith Library Center.

WorldCat Dissertations
This database contains records for over 5 million items cataloged as dissertations, theses, or published materials based on theses or dissertations, in WorldCat, including titles provided by NetLibrary. The database allows users to quickly and efficiently retrieve records for theses and dissertations..

Worldscope
Current financial information on public companies worldwide, drawn from annual reports, newspapers, wire services, and disclosure statements. Displays full document information as full-text option. Updated weekly.

Worldwide Political Science Abstracts
This database is a combination of the merged backfiles of Political Science Abstracts and ABC POL SCI, and provides abstracts and indexing of serials in the area of political science, international relations, law, and public administration/policy. 1010 titles are currently included in the database, which includes backfiles beginning with 1975. It is updated monthly.
