Beware: E-mail Phishing Scams |
|
|
Question ANY e-mail that asks for your password or requests a password change. No matter how legitimate it may look, even if it appears to be from ITS or the Help Desk. WE WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD.
Remember, anyone who has your password can read and delete your e-mail and impersonate you. PROTECT YOUR PASSWORD
Also, be wary of e-mails that appear to come from your bank, credit card company, phone service, etc. Phishing scams can look very genuine. If you receive any e-mail asking for personal information, do not respond. Many times you can find clues that the e-mail is a fraud.
If you are ever in doubt...don't respond. Call the helpdesk and we will investigate it for you.
