Can campus visitors use wireless on campus? |
A guest network, su-visitor, is available for campus visitors needing Internet access. Residential halls have a separate wireless network which is managed by their network provider, Apogee
Telecom.
Security restrictions have been placed on the guest wireless network "su-visitor." Upon connecting to "su-visitor", local(intranet ) access will be confined to my.southwestern.edu services and www.southwestern.edu. Internet services will be restricted to allow web browsing and VPN (Virtual Private Network) access only. If you have the option and own a SUeID , please use the "su-pirate "wireless network, as this network is encrypted and therefore more secure. "su-pirate" offers non-restricted access to the intranet and Internet. "su-visitor" is for guest of Southwestern who do not have a SUeID. |
