SU WebMail
WebMail s how you access your mail through your web browser on your computer or smart phone. WebMail is fairly intuitive, however, there are some functions that are either hard to find or not as straight forward as one would think. You can access WebMail through the portal (my.southwestern.edu) by clicking on the WebMail tab or by going directly to webmail.southwestern.edu
Below are the most common functionality questions we get for webmail.
How do I SU e-mail to a different account?
Expand the 'Mail' icon located in the left sidebar and select 'Forwards'.
How do I set a Vacation Notice
Expand the 'Mail' icon located in the left sidebar and select 'Vacation'.
My Inbox is listing messages in a crazy order, what happened?
Most likely your inbox has been sorted by a different field other than Date. Your inbox can be sorted either the From, the Date, the Subject or Size columns. To change the column by which the messages are sorted, single click on the column header (From, Date, Subject, or Size).
Click the word Date at the top of the columns and your mail will be automatically sort basedby date again. To switch from Ascending to Descending order or vice-versa, click the 'Date' comlumn once again
How do I send a message to multiple people?
In 'To:' portion of a new message you can enter a list of several addresses, by each one with a comma. Make sure not to place a comma after the last name.
How do I send an attachment?
First, select the file that you wish to attach to your message from your local system.
Use the "Attach" button to start uploading the file to the web server. Once you have pressed the button, you may have to wait bit for the file to upload. The file will be sent from your local computer to the web server, where it will be held in waiting until you finish composing your message. Nothing will be sent anywhere until you return to the message composition page and press "Send". You can safely send and receive attachments up to 10 MB in size.
How do I save new addresses to my address book?
If you are viewing a message and would like to save the senders address, click on the small book icon to the left of the 'From: field.

Where do I setup a signature?
You can use the "Options" section to store settings that will be remembered for the next time that you log in. The options are broken up into sections, general and personal. Signature settings are under 'Personal'.
