Change Your Password
Change your password at www.southwestern.edu/password.
If You Have Forgotten Your Password
If you have forgotten your password, you can reset your password using Southwestern’s self-service password change service. This is accomplished by successfully answering several challenge questions which must be set up before using the self-serve password change service. (Setup your challenge questions NOW!)
Set up your challenge questions at www.southwestern.edu/password. The answers you define are not case-sensitive, but any punctuation used does need to be remembered. It is very important that you provide answers that only you know and that are not easily guessed by somebody else.
If you need to reset your password, go to www.southwestern.edu/password and you will be presented with three randomly selected challenge questions from the pool of five that you set up previously. After you have answered the three questions correctly, you will then be able to reset your password.
If You Are Unable To Change Your Password
If you are having problems changing your password, or you changed your password and the new password does not work…
- Go to the Info Desk in the SLC Research Commons [Monday - Friday 8:00am - noon 1:00pm - 5:00pm CDT] and bring your Pirate Card or another valid picture ID. If you are abroad or are not able to come to the Info Desk, call the Info Desk at 512-819-7333 [Monday - Friday 8:00am - noon 1:00pm - 5:00pm CDT]. You will be asked a few questions to verify your identity. Note that this process takes longer than changing your password at www.southwestern.edu/password.
