SUeID (Username & Password)
What is it?
Your SUeID is your digital identity at Southwestern. It gives you access to online services and serves as your user account for all lab and classroom computers. Your SUeID forms the first part of your SU e-mail address: ie: <SUeID>@southwestern.edu.
Please be aware that Email Scams continue to test the campus and are becoming increasingly convincing. Southwestern will NEVER ask you to submit your password via email, and if we ever ask you to complete a form, we will give ample notice and plenty of details to explain what we are doing. Always be wary of such requests, and be vigilant about keeping your digital identity and information safe!
SUeIDs for students are authorized by notification from Admissions or the Center for Academic Success. IT cannot create a student account without this notification.
For Faculty and Staff
All SUeIDs are created by IT. A new employee must sign their employment contract AND the faculty/staff directory information screen must be up-to-date before IT can create the user account. The directory information screen is maintained by either Human Resources (Staff) or the Dean of Faculty’s Office (Faculty).
A department chair or supervisor can request the creation of an SUeID in advance of start date, as long as the directory information screen is complete.
