Central Plant Mechanic

Southwestern University has an immediate opening for a Central Plant Mechanic within the Physical Plant Department. This is a 40 hours a week position and may require regular weekend or late night shifts.
Duties: Perform duties necessary to operate and maintain the Central Chiller Plant including centrifugal pump maintenance/overhaul, centrifugal chiller maintenance, low temp boiler maintenance/repair, monitoring chemical treatment, monitoring/repairing of campus HVAC controls (pneumatic and electronic), and responding in a timely manner to complaint calls.
Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of five years experience as a stationary engineer or chiller plant mechanic. Experience repairing frequency drives and Johnson Metasys or other PLC controls is a plus. Candidates must be motivated and able to work unsupervised, possess good oral and written communication skills, and possess the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Candidate must also be capable of heavy lifting and working on ladders. A current valid Texas driver’s license is required.
