Creative Services Coordinator

Southwestern University has an immediate opening for a Coordinator in the Creative Services department. This is an entry-level, professional position, which reports to the Director of Creative Services within the University Relations department.  It is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide support for Director of Creative Services; coordinate the work order process for publication and communications projects with all internal and external University constituencies; develop and drive multiple project timelines from start to completion; coordinate bids with printers and other vendors; coordinate third-party resources, including photographers, designers and mailing services; assist with updates and (depending on skills) design and production of Creative Services projects; assist Creative Services staff with editing/proofing of printed materials as requested; manage related accounting and paperwork including contracts, purchase requisitions, accounts payable and departmental reporting; maintain up-to-date publication files and archives. 

Other responsibilities include: manage Creative Services calendar and coordinate meetings; manage and order supplies and materials; schedule and assist with supervision of student interns and/or student workers; assist with staffing for University events, including Homecoming, Family Weekend, Commencement, and other special events.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, design, journalism, communications or related fields and a minimum of one year’s experience in a related professional position. Other requirements for this position include: superior attention to detail; excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe InDesign; ability to work efficiently in a high-pace, demanding environment with multiple deadlines, clients and priorities; proven ability to perform well in stressful situations while maintaining a good sense of humor; strong organizational and project management skills; a strong work ethic; proven ability to produce reliable work product; an affable nature and excellent written and verbal communications skills; the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise good judgment.
