Thinking Ahead Impact
In June of 2013—two years ahead of schedule—Southwestern completed its most recent fundraising campaign, Thinking Ahead, Two anonymous $1 million gifts helped surpass the $150 million goal in conjunction with former President Jake Schrum’s retirement.
The Thinking Ahead campaign was the largest in Southwestern’s history and had a tremendous impact on facilities and programs across campus.
- $19.7 million was committed for The Southwestern Fund to help meet the priority needs on campus. Most of this support went directly to student scholarship assistance.
- $22.5 million was committed to the endowment. These funds support:
Faculty Chairs & Professorships
More than $50 million was committed to facility renovation and construction to enhance the living/learning environment.
More than $46 million was committed to support curricular and co-curricular initiatives at Southwestern.
- More than $11 million was documented in estate commitments to be received in the future.
