August 14-15, 2015
Welcome to the Parent Orientation website. We are delighted to have you as the newest members of our Southwestern community.
This site includes information relevant to your visit to Southwestern for Parent Orientation. We know that this can be both an exciting and stressful time for you and your student. We hope to make the process smooth and enjoyable.
Throughout the summer you will receive emailed communications from Southwestern with information regarding your student’s transition to college, including the Parent Orientation Schedule and Parent Handbook. If you are unsure if the Office of University Relations - Alumni and Parents has your current email address you may Update Your Info here.
Wondering if you should attend Orientation even if you attended Sprog Days? We think so! Parent Orientation provides time for you and your student to make this transition together. You will interact with faculty, staff and alumni, meet families of other incoming students and have the opportunity to attend special events such as Greetings from Georgetown at the Williamson County Courthouse and Matriculation Convocation, which mirrors Southwestern’s Commencement Convocation.
“By the time we left our son on Sunday we felt confident that the decision to come to SU was the right one. Most of our questions had been answered, and we felt that we had been given many resources to contact for questions that arise. It felt good knowing our son was part of a school that seems to take such an active interest in his success.” - 2012 Parent Orientation Attendee
We look forward to meeting you at Orientation in August. Please contact our office at anytime with questions.
