RESEARCH AREAS
Latin American history with a secondary concentration in Early Modern European history. Of special interest to Dr.
Castro is the colonial period, in particular the role of religious reformers and the role of ecclesiastical imperialism; the impact of the Inquisition on the life of colonial women in Peru; Latin American guerrilla movements and armed revolutions.
