March
8, 2008
8:30 am to 4:30pm
Southwestern University (map it)
(Open to all High School students or students ages 14 to 18.)
This one-day event is open to
all interested high school age students
and their chaperons. Developed by a team of Southwestern University
students, staff and faculty, the purpose of this summit is to further
environmental education and awareness as well as make
Southwestern’s resources more accessible to the larger
community.
This team has
drafted key Southwestern faculty and local leaders to develop an
environmental summit that would be targeted primarily to a high school
audience. The summit will feature sessions designed to approach
environmental education from a variety of disciplines (geology,
biology, anthropology, philosophy, etc) as well as offer opportunities
for students to network and learn about activism opportunities and
organizing techniques.
