Scholars Program      $5,000,000

One of the fundamental premises behind the named Scholars Program--such as the Brown Scholars--is that exceptional students raise the level of education for all by bringing creativity and novel perspectives to the collective educational enterprise. Those chosen as scholars have distinguished themselves academically through their superior performance in high school course work, standardized tests and class rank. Southwestern's Scholars Program benefits the entire student body, as students join together in small classes, research, creative endeavors and extracurricular and community events.

Paideia® Scholars      $12,000,000

Southwestern's Paideia® Program is a student-guided academic experience that actualizes Southwestern's Core Values. Paideia® Professors mentor students throughout the three-year program, both individually and in Paideia® seminars. Students build a culture of connections and reflections through intentional learning that integrates in-class and out-of-class experiences. In order to assist Paideia® Scholars with the additional costs associated with the out-of-class opportunities and experiences, the Paideia® Program offers financial assistance to students. All Paideia® Scholars follow Southwestern's rigorous academic curriculum while incorporating significant opportunities for leadership, collaborative research, service learning, and intercultural studies.

Student Scholarships      $6,000,000

Scholarships provide opportunities for talented and deserving students to attend Southwestern and to prepare for meaningful and productive lives. Our goal is to dramatically expand the scholarship program to make a Southwestern education accessible to all admitted students. Both need- and merit-based scholarships enable young men and women to benefit from a challenging academic environment.
