Special Opportunities: Theatre Scholarships
The Sarofim School of Fine Arts grants a number of scholarships to majors in Theatre. These scholarships are awarded after an audition or portfolio review by the members of the Theatre Department faculty. See below for details.
For Students Majoring in Theatre
$3,000–$10,000
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
ACTING: Bring your picture, resumé and two contrasting monologues—one classical and the other contemporary or one comedic and the other dramatic, Musical theatre selections optional. Also, please bring an accompaniment tape.
DESIGN: Portfolio presentation supported by appropriate visual and written materials, including a resumé.
All auditions and interviews should be 5–6 minutes.

Theatre scholarships are renewable, annually, up to four years based on satisfactory performance and continuation of the theatre major. Recipients may also be eligible for additional awards such as academic scholarships. Candidates must apply for general admission to Southwestern University prior to auditioning. Candidates must apply separately for admission to Southwestern University.
