For Current Students
Internships
To broaden your education and/or gain experience in a particular area of the field, we strongly encourage all students in the department to participate in summer and academic-year internships.
Letters of Recommendation
In order to prepare an appropriate letter of recommendation, faculty members need to have several important pieces of information from you (e.g., about the program/position for which you're applying, your grades, your strengths, previous experience, etc.).
Students seeking letters of ALL kinds (including letters for graduate school, on- or off-campus jobs, internships, study abroad programs, and honor societies) are strongly encouraged to provide faculty referees with this information.
After you have discussed the possibility of a faculty member serving as a reference, use the document below to provide them with the requested information. Doing so will increase the likelihood of getting a more informed, more in-depth reference.
