Southwestern University is pleased to present the Conductor’s Institute featuring clinicians Lois Ferrari and Carolyn Watson. 

The Conductor’s Institute of Southwestern University will be held June 21 - June 23, 2018.

Come spend three days in beautiful Georgetown Texas in the heart of the hill country as you study and conduct Copland’s Appalachian Spring (chamber version) and Milhaud’s La creation du mode (piano quintet version). 

Dr. Lois Ferrari is Professor of Music at Southwestern and also Music Director of the Austin Civic Orchestra. Dr. Carolyn Watson is Assistant Professor of Music at Texas State University. Both have won awards for the American Prize in conducting in the recent past.

Two professional ensembles will be in residence for your rehearsals. A public performance of the work will be presented on June 23, on the last evening of the institute. 

Space is limited to 10 conductors. Deadline for application is May 1, 2018.  Please contact Dr. Lois Ferrari to reserve your spot.

 


Participant fee for the institute: $500
Auditor fee is $200

Participants pay by check after reserving space.
