Majoring & Minoring
Majoring in French
The major in French requires a minimum of eight courses (majors consist of a minimum of 30 credits):
• FRE11-314 Topics in Literature and Film
• FRE11-334 Composition and Culture
• FRE11-354 French Culture
• FRE11-934 Capstone Seminar
• Four additional approved courses in French, at least two of which must be at or above the 300 level
A student majoring in French through the prior 2009-2010 catalog must meet the following requirements: 30 semester hours, including French 11-314, 334, 354, 934 (Capstone); 18 additional hours of French, six hours of which must be above the introductory level.
Minoring in French
The minor in French requires a minimum of five courses (minors consist of a minimum of 18 credits):
• Two courses from:
FRE11-314 Topics in Literature and Film
FRE11-334 Composition and Culture
FRE11-354 French Culture
• Three additional approved courses in French, at least one of which must be at or above the 300 level
A student minoring in French through the prior 2009-2010 catalog must meet the following requirements: 18 semester hours, including French 11-314, 354; 12 additional hours of French, six hours of which must be above the introductory level.
