Dr. Davi Johnson Thornton, Chair and Associate Professor of Communication Studies, published “Transformations of the Ideal Mother: Mommy Economicus and Her Amazing Brain” in Women’s Studies in Communication in December 2014. Her article won the 2014 Top Article/Feminist Scholar Award from the Organization for Research on Women & Communication.
Helene Thompson (’15) won the Top Undergraduate Paper Award for her paper “Screaming Like a Little Girl: A Dark Descent Into Gender, Video Games, and Fear” at the 2015 New Voices, New Perspectives Honors Conference at the University of North Texas. Helene also presented her paper at the Communication Diversity Conference at Texas A&M.
