Researching Options

Career Services provides a place to begin and/or continue the ongoing process of self-assessment.  Through individual career advising, and interest, personality and skill inventories, you can gather more information about yourself.  There are two types of self-assessment tools: personality inventories and interest inventories.  Personality inventories help you assess who you are, while interest inventories identify your interests and skills. You are encouraged to think about your skills, abilities, interests and values in relation to your course work, co-curricular activities, hobbies and volunteer or paid work experience.

Self-assessment is an ongoing process.  Each experience alters our self-concept and self-knowledge, and each time you begin to think about a new major, a new job or a career change, you must re-evaluate yourself in terms of your values, interests, skills and abilities.
