The Athletic Training Education Program has attracted students from all over the state of Texas as well as out of state students from as far as Georgia, California and Idaho. The varied backgrounds of our faculty and staff offer our students a diverse educational experience. The programs low student to cerfified athletic trainer ratio allows for individualized attention. The comments listed below reflect the direct views of our current athletic training students.

"I consider the personalities of all the instructors to be a major strength. I also feel that the structure is very important and I like that while the students are taught in the classes, they are encouraged to apply this knowledge in the training room and in their lives."

"I feel my strength within the program is the opportunity to work with so many athletes in a hands on manner."

"I like that the program is small and that it encourages a one-on-one working relationship with the instructors..."

Athletic Training Bios:

My name is Ashley Nicole Levit and I am from Sugar Land, Texas. I just started in athletic training this year. It's going great! I really enjoy learning about the human body and how it works. I want to come to the point where athletes can trust me and I can trust myself. I can't wait until I am able to diagnose
that first injury. Sports is also a huge part of my life. Growing up in Houston, I followed and rooted for our professional teams. I plan to graduate in 2008, and then go to graduate school at a Division I university. Hopefully, I can get a job working for the Astros, but if not, there's always other opportunities. I am all about giving my time for other people and making them feel comfortable. My life motto is always try to be yourself, even if some people don't accept it. It's better to be who you are than to change yourself just to fit in with the crowd. Peace out.

My name is Taylor Aiken and I am from Horseshoe Bay, Texas. I am a first year and plan to graduate in 2008. I would like to go to graduate school after I graduate from Southwestern University; I do not know where I want to go yet, though. I would like to work at a university eventually. I have lots of
goals in life such as having a family, being successful at whatever I end up doing and doing my part to encourage world peace!!
