Southwestern University is a proud member of the NCAA Division III and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) whose member institutions all share a commitment to the priority of the overall quality of academic standards and quality educational experiences. SCAC schools are consistently ranked among the top 50 Colleges and Universities in the nation in many of the respected publications. The SCAC is comprised of ten schools covering six states in the south and central United States. The other nine institutions currently include: Centre College of Danville, Kentucky; DePauw University of Greencastle, Indiana; Hendrix College of Conway, Arkansas; Millsaps College of Jackson, Mississippi; Rhodes College of Memphis, Tennessee; Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology of Terre Haute, Indiana; The University of the South of Sewanee, Tennessee; and Trinity University of San Antonio, Texas. We believe that the SCAC is an asset to our education program because it provides our students the opportunity to travel with a certified Athletic Trainer on most of our road trips. This provides additional educational experiences for our athletic training students that would be difficult to offer in the classroom or clinical setting.
