Go Pirates! Sports, whether they are intercollegiate, club, intramural or recreational, are a big part of students' lives at Southwestern. Ninety percent of our students throw, hit, run, swim, climb, and sweat their way through their four years here.

Our Intercollegiate Athletics teams, the Pirates, compete in NCAA Division III basketball, cross country, track & field, football, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, men's baseball, lacrosse, women's volleyball and women's softball.

As part of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, the Pirates have won championships in baseball, softball, volleyball, women's basketball and both men's and women's golf.

Our extensive offerings in intramural and recreational activities include competitive clubs in handball, in addition to a wide variety of offerings (e.g. intramural sports and fitness classes) that provide students with quality leisure experiences on campus, as well as outdoor trips that provide the opportunity to explore the Central Texas outdoors.

For both formal and informal athletics activities, students have the run of the Robertson Center, a 95,000 square-foot comprehensive recreational and athletic facility. Meanwhile, the great weather in Central Texas affords our students nearly endless opportunity for recreation and activity in the great outdoors, no matter what season.
