Grants are gift aid based on demonstrated need and can be funded from federal, state and/or institutional sources. Types of grants include the following:

Federal Pell Grant

Awarded to exceptionally needy students, as determined by the results of the FAFSA.The maximum Pell Grant award for the 2011-12 award year (July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012) was $5,550. Funded by the Federal Government. More…

Awarded to exceptionally needy students, as a supplement to the Federal Pell Grant. Actual award depends on level of funding that Southwestern University receives from the Federal Government. More…

Texas Tuition Equalization Grant (TEG)

Awarded to Texas residents demonstrating need. Recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA and pass at least 24 hours each year. More…

SU Scholarship (need-based)

Awarded by Southwestern University to students demonstrating need. Award amounts vary. Funding made possible by generous gifts from alumni and friends of Southwestern University.
