“Tuition Promise” Links
These universities provide scholarship/grant money to cover all tuition and fees to qualifying students. To apply, submit the FAFSA by March 1.
- Stephen F. Austin - Purple Promise (for students with an annual family income less than $30,000)
- Texas A&M - Aggie Assurance (covers tuition for students with an annual family income less than $60,000)
- UT Arlington - Maverick Promise (for students with an annual family income less than $65,000)
- UT Dallas - Tuition Promise (for students with an annual family income less than $25,000)
- UTSA - UTSAccess (for students with an annual family income less than $30,000)
Federal and State Grant Programs
Grant (free) money awarded to students based on financial need. To apply, submit the FAFSA by March 1.
- Pell Grant award chart (free money from the federal government for students with an EFC up to $4,716)
- TEXAS Grant (free money from the state of Texas for students with an EFC up to $4,000)

Student Loan Information Links
The best student loans are offered by the government through the college’s Financial Aid Office. Students must qualify for these loans and apply through the FAFSA application.
- Direct Loans - Low interest student loan provided by the federal government. “Subsidized” loans are interest-free while the student is in college. “Unsubsidized” loans are not interest-free. Flexible repayment plans available.
- Texas B-on-Time Loans - Low interest student loan provided by the state of Texas for qualifying students. These loans are interest-free while the student is in college and may be forgiven if the student meets certain requirements.
Note: If you do not qualify for the loans listed above, the loan listed below is a great alternative offered by the state of Texas. This loan has its own application and requires a credit check. Most students will require a co-signer.
