Kimberly Larson ‘04 had no plans to attend graduate school
and no concept of what scientific research really meant when she entered Southwestern University. After graduating as Southwestern’s 2003-2004 Chemistry Student of the Year, she entered the University of California-Berkeley’s Ph.D. program in organic chemistry without cost, thanks to a graduate research fellowship from the National Science Foundation.
